Martin - Francis A.

Francis A. (Al) Martin, one of the better known farmers of the
County, died at his home 8 and 1/2 mi. south of here, Wed morning
at 10 o'clock. His death was caused by complications. He had been
ill for the past 3 years. Mr. Martin was born near New Market on Nov
10, 1846 the son of Green and Eliz. Richardson Martin. He was
marr. to Keziah Elizabeth VanCleave on March 28, 1880. He lived
his entire life in Montgomery County. and is one of its best known
agrarians. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and Knights of Pythias lodges of New
Market. Surviving are 3 sons: Fred and Roy of near New Market and
Charles of near Linnsburg and one daughter, Ruth Martin at home.
His wife and one son preceded him in death. Funeral services will be
held Fri, March 28 at 11 in the morning and will be in charge of
the Rev. CL Airhart. Burial in Masonic Cemetery. Friends are
